| "I had very specific requirements for my guitar straps. I wanted something nobody else had. Having spent years digging around in guitar shops in the UK and US for something original I finally stumbled on Julius through the gretschpages website. Julius listened carefully to my requirements and came up with a great looking vintage style strap that looks wonderful on my 1960's Gretsch 6119. In addition he cooked up an outrageous rattler skin strap for my telecaster. Totally wild. The quality of the work was outstanding and I'm sure they will last a lifetime. Thanks Julius for saving me from having to talk to anymore confused looking guitar store employees." — Richard Coasby | |

"In April, 2002, I purchased a new Gretsch Green Brian Setzer Model 6120, a gorgeous guitar I had wanted for a long time. I thought that such a beautiful instrument, with so much visual personality, ought to have a strap to match. Having seen a few samples of Julius' work on the Gretsch Discussion Pages, I knew he was the one to help me create a strap that would live up to and enhance the beauty of the guitar. I'm a fan of tiki-related art, and initially contacted Julius to see if such a motif would be feasible on a leather strap. I found Julius to be most welcoming and accomodating on the phone during this initial and all subsequent conversations. He seemed anxious to make sure I would be happy with the final product. Toward that end, we spent a long time discussing everything from the color of the dye used on the strap to the specific designs and layout of the carvings. Julius went so far as to check out a similar guitar at a store near him and even to send me several leather samples dyed various shades of green, so I could decide which best matched my guitar. We also both happened to have the same book on tiki art, so it was very simple to communicate ideas back and forth by referring to page numbers. Julius also had me measure my current strap at the length I played at, so he could customize the holes punched in the one he was making for me, insuring a perfect fit. All of this made the idea of ordering a custom piece of artwork long-distance a much more comfortable experience, and Julius made me feel confident that we were "on the same page," so to speak. I couldn't have been more right. When the strap arrived (complete with a small cleaning cloth), I was blown away by the quality of the artwork, the vividness of the colors and the overall beauty of the strap. I'm not sure the pictures I've taken do it justice. There is subtle detail, like the small pieces of the mosaic Easter Island head, the wood grain visible in the carved tikis, and the amazing flames from the torch, which never fails to elicit surprise and plenty of questions from anyone who sees the strap. The Gretsch is a guitar I bought to keep forever, to one day give to my kids. I now have a strap I can say the same thing about. Thanks Julius." — Alexander Stein |

"Medina Made Straps are the highest quality leather straps that I have ever
used.
People pay thousands of dollars for guitars, but then five bucks for a cheap strap. Nobody wants that... Julius is able to bring style and finish off the look of a fine guitar. The perfect detail for any guitar is a quality, custom-made strap. I asked Julius to make me a strap that will match my ES-295. We talked via E-mail, and exchanged ideas. I sent pictures of the guitar, and pictures of the pickguard. Julius was able to match the floral/vine design of the pickguard and tool it into the leather. The detail in which he was able to get into the strap is outstanding. The leather that Julius uses is outstanding. Going into a chain music store will only give you the option of buying a cheap, hard, low-quality leather strap. You have no input into the design...you have to settle for what the store has. With Medina Made Straps, your imagination is the only boundary when it comes to design. I loved his work so much, I ordered another strap from him, for my Gretsch. On a personal level, I gave Julius a call on the phone and he was the perfect gentleman. Easy to talk to, never rushing, and always making sure that every detail is covered so that you are completely happy with your strap. Whether you play a $350 guitar, or a $3500 guitar...the best accessory that you can buy for it is a Medina Made Strap." — Shaun Cooney (SugarV) |

"I contacted Julius shortly after my birthday. I'm hard to buy for and my wife asked me what I would like for my birthday. I told her about Julius' straps and she said I should contact him and feel him out. I found Julius to be a very personable, confident, likeable guy. It's not often you meet a person with this much talent but what really won me over was his great personality, his sincerity, and desire to make the customer happy. We bounced ideas of each other and in less then a week we had a very good idea of what my strap would look like. He kept in touch with e-mails and phone calls to update me on the strap's progress. In approximately 6 weeks the strap was completed and promptly shipped to me. The 6 weeks didn't seem long at all but the 3 days the strap took to get to me was an eternity, I was so anxious. When the strap arrived, I held my breath and opened the box. I removed the packing material and when I got my first glimpse of the strap, I was blown away. The strap exceeded my wildest expectations. I don't know how he did it but he took my ideas and created a one of a kind masterpiece in leather. I took my new strap to work with me the next day to show it off. Everyone loved it. When not in use it is proudly displayed on top of my amp." — John Spears |
